Women’s World Cup U-20 Qualifiers:Black Princesses edge over Senegal with two unanswered goals in Dakar

The Black Princess of Ghana showed  an impressive performance far in Dakar against the Senegal in the U-20 Women’s Qualifiers.

The princess scored two unanswered goals to edge over the Senegal female team in the double header.

Promising Tracey Twum’s first-half brilliant brace ensured the Black Princesses left Dakar with an impressive 0-2 win over Senegal in the first leg of the final round FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier.

The princess could have open the scoreline in the first minute of the game through Former Faith Ladies’ attacker Maafia Nyame who had the first sniff at goal through a free-kick but it wasn’t enough to punish the Senegalese goalkeeper.

Resilient Black Princess from the blast of the whistle took the game to the Senegalese to unsettle them, peg them to defend for several minutes.

An excellent combination play saw Tracey Twum fed with a pass at a good position, which she did not disappoint, as she slotted home the first before increasing her tally a couple of minutes later to give her side a first-half lead.

The scoreline could have been more as the princesses continue to find the back of the opponent on several occasions but failed to utilize the goal scoring opportunities in the second half of the game.

Tottenham’s Persis Oteng made her long-awaited debut late second half of the game. Her contribution was so significant on the day for the princesses.

Black Princesses of Ghana will host the Senegalese at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, January 21, 2024, for the second leg.
