West Ham’s Kudus Mohammed yet to report to Black Stars camp

The Black Stars of Ghana takes on Namibia in a friendly on Monday January 8, 2024 as part of the preparation towards the upcoming Africa’s biggest tournament – 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Communication director of Ghana Football Association Asante Twum, explained that Kudus suffered a knock at his club recently, and the technical team, led by coach Chris Hughton, has recommended he take some time off to ensure full fitness.

“Mohammed Kudus is in Accra ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations. According to the Technical Team, he needs rest after picking up a strain. He will join the team before they depart for the AFCON,” Asante Twum confirmed during an interview with GTV.

Kudu Mohammed is the only player yet to report to camp after the Black Stars opened camp in kumasi seven days ago. Even though he is already in the country-Accra, the player is yet to not his teammates.

Hope very high the player gets back fully fit as the Black Stars determines a fith AFCON trophy, the last time the team did so was in the year 1982 and till date Ghana has not been able to do so after many years of chase.

The African Cup of Nations is slated to kick off January 13, 2014. Ghana in group B alongside Egypt Cape Verde and Mozambique.
