On a third consecutive roll, the Black Stars of Ghana failed to pick up a win in their opening group game at AFCON.
At the Stade Felix Sports Stadium, in the second group B game against Cape Verde in the ongoing 2023 African Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast, the Black once again failed to pick the three maximum points loosing in a 1-2 in the dying minutes of the game.
In a post-match conference, Hughton expressed his frustration, saying, “We are incredibly hugely disappointed with the result. We came into the game with a game plan to start on the front foot.”

The stars next match is against Egypt on Thursday, a draw or win is the only option at stake if the black Stars want to remain in the competition.
A loose means the Black Stars face the possibility of an early elimination, similar to their previous 2019 AFCON performance.
