President of the West African Football Union Zone B Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku has sent goodwill messages to both Ivory Coast and Nigeria ahead of the 2023 African Cup of Nations.
Both countries, under his leadership in the WAFU Zone B will battle for the AFCON trophy at the Alassane Ouatarra Olympic Stadium in Ebimbe on Sunday.
With both sides being from the West African zone, the trophy is set to remain in the zone regardless of who wins.
The zonal president, ahead of the clash, has wished the two sides all the best as they countdown to the showdown on Sunday.
“On behalf of the Executive Council of our proud WAFU Zone B, I wish our two brothers, the very best of luck. Give us a show,” he encouraged.
Nigeria and Ivory Coast will lock horns on Sunday to determine the eventual winner from the WAFU Zone B.
While Nigeria will be looking for their 4 AFCON title, Ivory Coast will be aiming for their third after 1992 and 2015.
