Ghanaian defender, Rashid Tetteh has disclosed his unwavering support for Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak.
According to the former Liberty Professionals U20 man, he is an ardent Phobian supporter and won’t hesitate to don the jersey of the Continental Club Masters when the opportunity avails itself.
Speaking to LinusNartey TV on YouTube, the versatile defender said, if he’s done with his career in the States, he will follow the path of former national players including Sulley Muntati, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu who returned from Europe to play in the Ghana Premier League.
“I do support Hearts of Oak. When it comes, I’m going to play and that is when I’m done in the United States. Because I know there are more opportunities out there. I’m not condemning the Ghana Premier League but why will I come and play if I’m already playing in the United States. Because I don’t know if Sulley was going to come down if he was playing active football, he’s not going to come down but because he was not playing active football, he had to come and play. So when I’m done with the career there and I think I can’t play there anymore, then I will come down to play and keep fit. We have players in the league and a couple of them being called to the National Team and it shows we have quality leagues in Ghana”.
Tetteh currently plies his trade with FC Tulsa in the United Soccer League (USL) Championship, having made 31 appearances in his debut season as he hopes for bigger exploits ahead of the 2024 season following his contract extension.
Prior to joining Tulsa in March 2023, Rashid Tetteh previously played for New Mexico United from 2019 to 2022, North Carolina Fusion U23 from 2016 to 2017 and Des Moines Menacein 2018.
The 28-year-old is yet to feature for Ghanaian at the international level.
