SHOCKING!!! Ghana U20 manager sacked from Accra Lions-Right To Dream Academy friendly game

In a shocking turn of events, head coach of Ghana U20 side Desmond Ofei has been turned away from a friendly encounter between Accra Lions and Right To Dream Academy in an attempt to watch the two for available talents to reinforce the national team.

The exercise which took place at the yet to be completed stadium of Accra Lions at Abokobi Madina is part of an organized tournament by VIM for talent identification.

Reports from the venue indicate that the arrival of the Ghana U20 manager was instantly resisted by the tournament organisers with claims that no national team manager is supposed to be there, despite the presence others.

With U17 manager Laryea Kingston attending the event the previous days, many have questioned why the arrival of another national team manager must spark controversies.

With Accra Lions having 3 players in the national U20 side already, Desmond is believed to have been there to scout for
talents for specific roles for his side ahead of the African Games to kickoff next month.

But the resistance from the organizers of the tournament and their embarrassing posturing forced the coach out of the place, something insiders say it was ‘an order from above.’

The action infuriated some spectators at the venue who felt disrespected by the decision of the organizers to turn away the Ghana U20 manager.

Other coaches who were around, including Paa Kwesi Fabin and Ibrahim Tanko were compelled to also leave the venue since, according to a close source, they felt disrespected by the decision to turn away Desmond from the venue.

Organiser of the tournament, VIM, have been mute when contacted on the matter but Coach Desmond Sekyi responded when contacted.

Desmond confirmed the incident happened but was not ready to talk about it.

Sienu TV understands that Desmond was there to watch the left back of Accra Lions for a possible call up to the U20 side.

A close source revealed that the Ghana FA has written to Right To Dream Academy for two of their players to join the national U20 side but the academy side is yet to respond.

It is, however, unclear whether the two side are not interested in allowing their players to join the national team anymore with Accra Lions already having two players in the team.

With less than a month to the start of the African Games, the national U20 coach is making all efforts to get the team ready for the tournament.
