Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Major (rtd) Dr. Mustapha Ahmed, has passed away, sienutvsport.com can confirm.
The tragic incident happened late on Wednesday, February 7.
Notably, from 2001 until 2016, Dr. Mustapha Ahmed held the position of Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Ayawaso North Constituency.
In addition, he succeeded Mahama Ayariga of Bawku Central as the Minister of Youth and Sports, a position that was designated by then President John Dramani Mahama in March 2015.
But his time as a minister was short-lived, as a cabinet upheaval less than a year later saw Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye take his position.
Dr. Mustapha Ahmed will be buried on Thursday.
