RTU manager cries for financial support for the club

Abdul Mumin Abdulai, the Real Tamale United head coach, is pushing for assistance to improve the team’s financial circumstances.

In protest of unpaid entitlements, the players skipped practice on March 6, 2024, the Wednesday before their Ghana Premier League matchup with Heart of Lions this coming weekend.

They opted not to show up for training a few days before their match against Heart of Lions, having already played two games in the second part of the campaign and complaining loudly about unpaid bonuses and wage arrears.

“The players boycotted yesterday’s training because they haven’t received their salaries in nearly five months, plus some unpaid bonuses. while I, as the coach, have not been paid in nearly a year. Our situation is dire, and we require immediate help”

“Some of us can’t say anything, but the players have a weapon and are refusing to train, which speaks volumes to me. We’re trying to figure out how to put our heads together with a little psychology”

“As a human, I occasionally need to assist them in some way, such as when a player complains about not eating all day, but I can’t handle it all on my own, so we rely on stakeholders. It’s a tough one, but we can still avoid relegation if things turn around today”

In order to survive at the end of the Ghana Premier League season, the Tamale-based team needs to put in more effort than they have been doing.

With just 18 points after 19 games this season, they are presently bottom of the league table.
