Liverpool star Mohammed Salah excluded from Egypt squad for March international friendlies

Newly hired Egypt national team head coach Hossam Hassan has sparked controversy in the North African country excluding Liverpool star Mohammed Salah from his first call up as manager.

The former Egypt skipper who is now the coach has named his 25-man squad for the upcoming international break this month.

Under Hossam Hassan, the Pharaohs will usher in a new era as they attempt to bounce back after a dismal showing in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Egypt, along with Tunisia, Croatia, and New Zealand, will participate in the Winsunited Cup in the United Arab Emirates during the March break.

Mohamed Salah, who is now sidelined by injury and made his Reds debut in a 4-1 away triumph at Brentford, has been the subject of criticism.

Salah was left out of Hossam Hassan’s squad, but it has now been confirmed that he will stay at Liverpool despite having only resumed training.

Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny also failed to make the cut while ex-Aston Villa winger Mahmoud Trezeguet and Omar Marmoush of Frankfurt secured their spots.
