I have no problem if my colleagues play for me to win – Musa

Super Eagles has Ahmed Musa has watered down calls for game time for him in the Super Eagles at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

The experienced winger who was part of the 2013 victorious squad alongside Kenneth Omeruo has not featured in any of Nigeria’s six games played so far in the tournament.

Speaking at the Pre-match press conference ahead of the finals Musa, was posed with a question whether he is bothered been on the bench.

“I’ve had times that I play for my colleagues to win. If I’m placed on the bench for my colleagues to win for me I’m not bothered,” he said.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on Ivory Coast, their group opponents in the finals of AFCON 2023 as the match is scheduled at Alassane Outtara Olympic Stadium in Ebimpe.

Coach Jose Peseiro and his charges will wish to lift the trophy for the 4th time in Nigeria’s history as they won it 11 years ago in South Africa under late Stephen Keshi.

Ahmed Musa and Kenneth Omeruo could become the only players to win 2 AFCON titles in the history of Nigerian football. On the contrary late Stephen Keshi won as a player and coach in 1994 and 2013.
