Despite a disappointing scoreline, Black Stars head Coach Chris Hughton expressed satisfactory performance from his boys at the Stade Felix Houpjouet Boigny Sports Stadium on Thursday night.
The Black Stars to the lead against Egypt on two occasions but gave away cheap goals through defensive errors to end the game in a draw (2:2).
He highlighted the joy that will be felt by the passionate supporters after witnessing a commendable performance from his squad against the Pharaohs of Egypt.
The stars came under huge criticism after the defeat to Cape Verde in their first group B game in a 2-1.
The gaffer made an emphatic statement after the game;
“Our message is we understand everything our supporters are going through when they see performances they feel are not good enough performances they feel it this we understand we feel it the same way,”
“I am happy today they saw a performance from the team even though it is not the result what we want what they want I think they can be happy with the performance.
“What we now need to do is put in this same type of performance in the next game and this will give us an opportunity to go through,” he said
Ghana will now turn its attention to a must-win game against Mozambique which will be played on Monday 22nd January 2024. The game will kick off at 20:00 GMT.
