“I am doing my best to be ready for 2023 AFCON”- Mohammed Kudus

Speaking ahead of the start of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament Ivory Coast, inform West Ham United forward Kudus Mohammed in an interview disclosed he is back, doing well and ready to help the Black Stars at the tournament.

The lad opened up to explain why he was not present when the team opened camp on home soil in Kumasi, Asanti Region of Ghana.

‘’After our last game at West Ham I had a setback. I got an injury so I started my rehabilitation at the club.

”There was constant communication between the club physiotherapist and physiotherapists of the national team and the decision was for me to start my rehabilitation at the club and do the last part of my rehab here (in Ghana) and that is what I am doing.-He said.

The sensational attacker is expected to be in the lineup when the Black Stars kickstart their first game at the tournament against the Cape Verde national team on Sunday January, 14, 2024.

There is a whole lots of expectations from the West Ham target man, expected to replicate his performance at club side to the national team.

‘’I am doing my best to be ready for the team because the only way I can help the team is to be fully fit and ready,” Mohammed Kudus.

 

Mohammed Kudus missed out of the 2019 African Cup of Nations tournament in Cameron due to injury.

Ghana’s last time outing at the AFCON tournament was very disappointing, showed very unconvincing performance led to the teams exit from the tournament in the group stages.

The 2023 AFCON is scheduled to start in Ivory Coast today.

Ghana takes on Cape Verde tomorrow in the clash in Group B.
