Ghanaian winger, Joseph Paintsil has earned a spot in the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Week after Match Day 2 in the ongoing 2024 season.
Paintsil capped his second start of the campaign with a goal and an assist for LA Galaxy in an impressive 3-1 away triumph over San Jose Earthquakes at the PayPal Park on Sunday.
The former Tema Youth man made his debut start few days after joining the Galaxy in February when La Galaxy drew 1-1 with Inter Miami in their opening game of the season.
Paintsil sealed a 4-year deal to LA Galaxy from Belgian side KRC Genk for a fee around $9 million in February and have settled well, having started all two games,
Prior to relocating to the United States, Painstil recorded an impressive 61 goals and provided 35 assists in the 228 matches that he played for Genk, including nine goals and five assists in the going 2023/24 campaign.
