Ghana U20 record another preparatory win ahead of African Games kickoff

Ghana’s U20 male national team – the Black Satellites – recorded another win in their preparatory games ahead of the African Games which kicks off on March 8.

The Satellites registered a 2-0 win over Division One League side Venomous Vipers in a friendly in Cape Coast on Saturday.

A goal in each half of the game gave the U20 side the morale-boosting win over their opponents at the Robert Mensah sports stadium in Cape Coast.

Jerry Afriyie broke the virginity of the game in the first half before Abdul Aziz Misbau doubled the lead in the second half.

Before the multi-sport event begins on March 8, 2024, the Black Satellites had won all of their practice matches, including a 1-0 victory over Hearts of Oak boosting the team’s confidence.

Ghana, Congo, Gambia, and Benin have all been put into Group A of men’s football with their matches scheduled for the Accra Sports Stadium.

The University of Ghana Sports Stadium will host the matches for Group B opponents Nigeria, Senegal, South Sudan, Tunisia, and Uganda.

At the 13th African Games, one of Ghana’s medal hopes is the Black Satellites.
