Ghana Premier League side Real Tamale United (RTU) have been handed a temporal ban from using the Aliu Mahama Stadium as well as suffering a fine by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
The Tamale-based club has been handed the ban and the following a series of misconducts during their recent Ghana Premier League fixture against Medeama SC.
RTU FC found themselves in hot water after failing to ensure the safety of the Match Commissioner, a violation of section 16(1)(c) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019.
Additionally, the club faced charges for the inappropriate behavior exhibited by their supporters, contravening section 16(2)(c) of the same code.
The club pleaded guilty to the charges and sought mitigation, the GFA Disciplinary Committee levied a fine of GHS10,000 on RTU.
Moreover, the committee handed down a significant punishment by banning the team from hosting their next three home matches at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
Real Tamale United was also warned that any further misconduct would result in severe sanctions.
