Crystal Palace 3-0 Burnley: Oliver Glasner off to a flying start with Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace new manager Oliver Glasner teared off to a flying start start with a blistering 3-0 win over Burnley in the English premier League on Saturday.

He and Crystal Palace must have been in agony during the lengthy wait for their 3-0 victory over Burnley at the time, but three goals in the second half inside ten minutes propelled them to 14th place and gave them an eight-point advantage over the bottom three.

Burnley, who were in danger of relegation, may have been Glasner’s first opponents, but his team still needed to defeat them, and they did in the end, rather comfortably.

At the start of both halves, Palace came out swinging, controlling the ball but offering their enthusiastic home fans little more than empty promises.

After Jefferson Lerma’s brilliant effort on two minutes was followed by a string of Palace corners, it made sense that the Eagles supporters, ecstatic about the beginning of the Glasner regime, would be hoping for a pleasant day in the sun.

Despite having conceded 55 goals in the Premier League this season before to this weekend, Burnley remained resolute, which was completely out of character.

While Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi, who aren’t available for this game but will undoubtedly become key players if Glasner’s term is successful, watched from the stands, Palace’s new manager stood motionless and thoughtfully on the touchline, taking in his first matchday experience at Selhurst Park.

Goals from Jeferry Richards, Jordan Ayew and Jean-Philippe Mateta were all that Crystal Palace needed to hand Oliver Glasner a welcome atmosphere at the Selhurst Park.
