“Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique are teams that we have beaten before and I’m confident we will emerge out of the group. There will be no repeat of events in AFCON 2021in Cameroon” he said.
The Black Stars of Ghana jet off to Ivory Coast (Abidjan) for the next African Cup of Nations tournament slated to kickstart on January 13,2024
The Black Stars headed by coach Chris Hoghton inspired to end the 42 years African Cup of Nations trophy draught since 1982, the last time Ghana won the Afcon trophy.
The team in their African outfits jetted off to Abidjan including West Ham’s player Kudus Mohammed who could not participate in the teams 8 days camping in kumasi due to injury.
Black Stars could only manage one friendly game against the Braves Warriors of Namibia at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, which the game ended in a goalless draw. The friendly was part of the preparation to the AFCON.
Ghana in group B alongside Egypt Cape Verde and Mozambique. Ghana will open their account at the tournament against Cape Verde on January 14, 2024.
