Ghana’s U20 side – the Black Satellites – walloped Division One League side Kings Palace 5-0 in a preparatory game for the upcoming African Games.
The team is sharpening their rough edges ahead of the African Games, which will kick start on March 8, 2024 in Accra.
The Black Satellites played the friendly match against the lower-tier team on Wednesday at Akotex Park in Akosombo as part of their preparations.
Due to both teams’ inability to score, the first half of the match finished in a thrilling goalless tie.
After putting up an incredible display in the second half, the Ghana U20 team easily defeated Kings Palace, winning 5-0.
Black Satellites were led to victory by goals from Jerry Afriyie, Abdul Hakeem, Michael Ephson, and Abdul Aziz Issah.
With the aim of winning the most medals in the multisport competition, Ghana will play host to the rest of Africa from March 8 to 22.
The Black Satellites have been drawn in Group A alongside Congo, Benin and Gambia.
