The 2024 Olympic Games qualifier between the black Queens of Ghana and the Copper queens of Zambia has been moved to the Accra Sports Stadium intead of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Next week, in Ghana, the Black Queens and Copper Queens are set to play the first leg of their tie in the Olympic qualifying tournament for Paris in 2024.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a change in the location before of the game.
“The Ghana Football Association wishes to announce that the venue for the Olympic Games qualifier between Ghana Zambia has been moved from Kumasi to Accra.
“Ghana were initially scheduled to meet the Copper Queens of Zambia at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Friday, February 23 but the game will now take place at the Accra Sports Stadium,” parts of a statement from the GFA said on Wednesday, February 14.
The statement further explained, “This is because three sanctioned high-profile games cannot take place at the same match venue within a three-day period. Medeama SC and Dreams FC will engage in two CAF inter-club games at the Baba Yara stadium on the weekend of February 23-25, 2024.
“Medeama SC will host Al Ahly in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Friday, February 23, while Dreams FC host Club Africain on Sunday, February 25, 2024.”
The game between Ghana’s Black Queens and the Copper Queens on February 23, will kick off at 5 pm at the Baba Yara Stadium.
