Steaua Bucuresti midfielder Baba Alhassan has urged young Ghanaian players with the dream of playing football in Europe to be aggressive and physical when on trials.
Baba who started his career in Ghana was moved to Valladolid where he broke through to make a successful career in Europe.
The 24-year-old who provided an assist for his Steaua Bucuresti side in the Romanian league on Thursday night believes the only difference between an African/Ghanaian player is aggression and physicality.
“For me, the first thing I’ll tell them is not to be shy or fear the white guys. If you’re shy or fear them, you can’t play,” he told sienutvsports.com in an exclusive interview, advising young players aiming at making it in Europe.
“Because technically they (European) are good already. The only difference you will have over them is to be hard and aggressive.
He added that Ghanaians players must not fear to speak out and communicate during trainings or games as that show leadership and confidence.
“And also, do not fear to speak out. That shows how confident you are,” he added.
Following an incredible season with Hermannstadt, Baba attracted interest from top sides and landed in Steaua Bucuresti where he’s now playing.
