Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey pleased with his first training

Asante Kotoko SC midfielder Richmond Nii Lamptey who had his first training was pleased with the National Team at Dr Kwame Kyei Stadium in Kumasi.

The 26-year-old central midfielder earned a spot in the 27-man squad list as announced by Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton on Monday morning.

The Pride of the nation held their first training session at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Stadium in Abrankese ahead of the 2024 AFCON in Ivory Coast.

The behind-closed-doors session was their first intense session ahead of their 10 days intensive preparation since arriving earlier today in Kumasi.

24 out of 27 players who were named for the tournament were available and ended the session with Kudus, Iniaki and Jordan Ayew being the only players missing due to injuries concerns but will soon join the rest of the team.

According to the team’s itinerary, the team will be training behind-close-doors in their entire pre tournament preparation in Kumasi.

Ghana will play Namibia at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, January 8, 2024, in a pre-tournament friendly to fine-tune the squad before flying to Ivory Coast for the tournament.

Ghana will face Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique in Group B
