Antoine Semenyo scores in Bournemouth stalemate with Newcastle

Ghana striker Antoine Semenyo was on the scoresheet for Bournemouth AFC when they held Newcastle United to a 2-2 draw on Saturday afternoon.

With help from Dominic Solanke, the 24-year-old attacker beat Newcastle’s Martin Dubravska with a daring strike outside the area to score a vital goal in the 69th minute.

Semenyo’s unwavering work on the right flank paid off as he daringly dashed past opponents to give his side the lead after Newcastle equalised through a penalty kick.

Matt Ritchie’s goal in stoppage time gave the home team a point, but Newcastle responded with a second equaliser of the match.

Afterwards, Semenyo opened the path for Dango Ouattara of Burkina Faso in the 77th minute.

With 28 points, Bournemouth, managed by Andoni Araola, is currently in 12th place in the league rankings and hopes to stay there.

In 19 Premier League games, Semenyo has scored four goals and provided an assist this season.

Even with his achievements, Semenyo was not happy with Ghana during the most recent AFCON 2023—the squad lost in the group stages.

The former striker for Bristol City is still improving in the English premier league, which has a long-lasting effect on Bournemouth’s season. In 19 games, he has scored three goals.
