Andre Ayew plays 35th AFCON game

Ghana captain Andre Ayew has made a mile stone history last night after his yet another appearance for Ghana with a game away from equaling Rigobert Song capped Africa Cup of Nation AFCON.

The former West Ham United player was introduced in Ghana opening game against Cape Verde at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nation on Sunday night at the Stade Félix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.

Andre Ayew’s moment came after he was subbed on in the 62nd minute when the 34 year old came on to replace Ransford Yeboah on the field, with a game away from equaling Rigobert Song who hold the record with 36 appearance.

Andre Ayew’s National Team journey start in a friendly match against Senegal on August 21,2007 where he entered late in the game.

The 34 year old player has made 116 appearance for Ghana with 24 goals in his National Team cabinet.

Ghana lost 2-1 to Cape Verde in their opening game on Sunday night.

The Black Stars plays their next game against Egypt in what is tagged as a must win for the Stars on Thursday at Stade Félix Houphouet Boigny at 8:00 pm GMT.
