Alhaji Akambi, Vincent Odotei will leave Hearts of Oak if I hold shares – Dan Quaye

Former Hearts of Oak defender, Dan Quaye says he will relieve of the duties of Alhaji Akambi and Vincent Odotei if he holds shares in the club.

The duo over the years have served as Board Members of the Club under Board Chairman, Togbe Afede XIV.

Despite their services and commitment to Hearts of Oak, some fans are not satisfied with their output and have always wanted them out of the club.

However, Dan Quaye who played for Hearts of Oak from 1998 to 2007 shares the same sentiment with some fans, adding that the duo have not performed well enough and will leave the club if he hold shares.

Speaking to LinusNartey TV on YouTube, Dan Quaye said “I will let them leave because as they are still there, they don’t perform their duties well and it has always been the same problem. I will find solutions where I will bring new people who will progress the work, so the best thing is to relieve them of their roles and besides they have stayed long with the club. Since they have stayed long, Hearts of Oak does not achieve anything.

He added that, the duo will be replaced with competent people “So I will take them out and replace them with competent people. People came to the club and have left, so when you come and your performance is below standard, you have to leave for others to come because that role is not yours”.

Dan Quaye was an integral part of the Hearts of Oak team, known as the (64 Battalion) when they conquered Africa in the year 2000 and 2005, winning both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup respectively.

He also made Ghana’s final squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany as one of the local based players.

Dan Quaye started his career with Great Olympics before moving to Hearts of Oak.

Also, he had spells in China after which he returned to Ghana to play for Eleven Wise and a second stint with Hearts of Oak.
