Ghana’s female U20 side, the Black Princesses secured a semi-finals qualification in the women’s football tournament at the ongoing African Games in Cape Coast following a thrilling comeback victory against Tanzania.
In the twenty-third minute, Hasnath Ubamba of Tanzania scored the first goal.
But Ghana would not give up, and shortly before halftime, Tracey Twum produced a magnificent header to lead the country back.
Twum’s third goal of the competition cemented her status as an important member of the Black Princesses squad.
With a fantastic assist from Ophelia Amponsah, Mukarama Abdulai scored what would end up being the game-winning goal for Ghana in the second half.
The Black Princesses held onto their lead and won the game despite a few anxious moments towards the end, including a close call in the 85th minute that goalie Afi Amenyeku stopped.
