AFCON 2023: Ghana supporters to heighten support for Black Stars in Egypt clash

The Ghana Supporters Union in Abidjan have pledged to heighten their support for the Black Stars in their clash with Egypt on Thursday night.

Head of Marketing of the group, Morrison Mohammed has disclosed that his outfit will throw their full weight behind the Black Stars against Egypt.

The Black Stars are hoping to bounce back against the Pharaohs of Egypt after suffering a shocking 2-1 defeat to Cape Verde in their opening Group B game of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Abidjan.

“Our support for the team against Egypt will be bigger and stronger than what we saw against Cape Verde. We are going fully because we need the win,” he said.

He, however, called on the players to fight for the win for Ghana because that’s what is needed by all.

“All we want from the team is to give us good results.

“We leave the selections and whatever is happening in the Black Stars to the Black Stars, because that is why the Coach was hired, we won’t poke our nose into that,” said Morrison Mohammed at a media briefing on Wednesday.

The game is scheduled for Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Stade Félix-Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan at 20:00GMT.
