Ahead of their pre-AFCON friendly with the brave Warriors of Namibia, Ghana coach Chris Hughton has inspected the pitch at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to assess its readiness.
The former Tottenham hotspurs manager and his technical team assessed the facility to validate it’s readiness for the game on monday.
The Black Stars were forced to alter their training program and move to the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex due to the poor state of the pitch at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The National Sports Authority assured that the facility will be in good shape after four days have been putting a lot of effort into repairing the surface in preparation for the game.
Hughton visited the stadium on Friday with other members of his technical staff to inspect the pitch and make sure it complies with regulations.
For both countries, the friendly game versus Namibia is an important warm-up for the AFCON competition. Ghana, drawn into Group B, will compete against Mozambique, Egypt, and Cape Verde.
The Black Stars will stay in Kumasi for two more days after the friendly before travelling to the Ivory Coast for the AFCON competition.
They are keen to perform well in the competition, and the friendly match against Namibia offers them a chance to hone their preparations.
