Aduana Stars 1-2 Samartex: Leaders make huge statement to consolidate title claim

FC Samartex defied the odds to beat former Ghana Premier League champions Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa-Ahenkro on Monday to maintain their top spot on the league table.

Nurudeen Amadu’s team needed two early goals in the first half to secure the maximum number of points at Nana Agyemang Badu Park.

With the crucial win, the Timber Giants increase their advantage to five points and solidify their position atop the league standings.

Mama Hamadu Following a free kick, Musa scored his seventh goal of the season in the eighth minute to give Samartex the lead.

Moments later, midfielder Emmanuel Keyekeh, who had received a pass from Musa, increased the lead for the visitors with a powerful strike that came after some incredible agility outside the area.

Samartex maintained their poise till the very end of the first half.

With fifteen minutes remaining, substitutes Richard Mahama and Sampson Cobbinah combined to reduce the tally for Aduana.

Even though Aduana made an attempt to catch up, Samartex were unbeatable against the Ogya Boys ever since they entered the top division.

After four matches in the Ghana Premier League with Aduana, the Timber Giants have recorded three wins and one tie.
