Accra Hearts of Oak have announced their return to the Accra Sports Stadium to play their league games for the remainder of the season.
Following several site changes in the first round, such as using the Baba Yara Stadium and Sogakope Park, the team has officially announced that they will be returning to the Accra Sports Stadium, which is their customary home field.
The Accra Sports Stadium was cleared by the National Sports Authority (NSA) to hold league games, which led Hearts of Oak to decide to retake their home field.
In a statement posted on their official Facebook page, the club said “We have been granted permission to play our GPL match-day-18 game against RTU at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, 25th February, 2024.”
Hearts of Oak and their supporters place a great deal of value on the Accra Sports Stadium because it has served as the team’s home pitch for many years.
The return could not come at a more critical time, since the 2023–2024 Ghana Premier League is scheduled to commence on February 24. After a difficult opening round, Hearts of Oak now have 21 points, good for 11th position in the league rankings.
