Nigeria to play Argentina in a friendly in the USA in March

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on Argentina’s La Albiceleste in friendly in March during the FIFA International break in the United States of America, the south American giants have confirmed.

Nigeria, ranked 28th in the most recent FIFA national team rankings, will play their familiar opponents abroad for the first time since losing to Ivory Coast in the AFCON 2023 final.

Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, surprised everyone by winning the FIFA World Cup 2022, which was held in Qatar.

Argentina are currently ranked 1st in the latest FIFA rankings for national teams.

The Argentine Football Association’s official account shared the game’s details on social media, confirming that both teams have agreed to play the friendly.

The game was originally supposed to take place in China, but following Lionel Messi’s recent antics with Inter Miami, the fans weren’t too happy about the choice.

Eventually, the game was rescheduled to take place on March 26 in the United States.

Argentina and Nigeria have a long history together, having been placed in the same FIFA World Cup group from 2010 to 2018.
