2024 Olympic Games Qualifier: Black Queens hold first training in Accra ahead of Zambia clash

Ghana’s female senior national team, the Black Queens, held their first training session at the Accra Sports stadium on Monday ahead of their clash with Zambia.

The Black Queens will be taking on the Copper Queens of Zambia on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium in the 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers.

With the game slated for Friday, February 23, 2024, the team arrived to the Accra Sports Stadium training grounds on Monday afternoon without any delay.

During the rigorous training session, the team demonstrated focus and commitment as they refined their strategies and honed their skills under Coach Nora Häuptle’s close supervision.

Out of the 23 players that were invited, 18 were present, and the remaining five are anticipated to be at the Accra camp by Monday night in time for the team’s Tuesday training session.

The Black Queens’ quest to qualify for the Olympics depends heavily on their performance in the next game against Zambia.

Zambia, one of Africa’s representatives at the FIFA Women’s World Cup present a real test for the Black Queens who have enjoyed a smooth sail under nor Hauptle.

The result of the first leg clash in Accra will have a significant impact on the chances of qualification for the Black Queens.

Already, the Black Meteors failed to secure a ticket for the Olympics and Ghanaians hope the Queens will be able to make it over the male counterparts.
